CHRONOLOGY OF HIS SPANISH RECORDS
It is little wonder that many newspapers
in Spain referred to Tomás Barris, in their headlines as "the
Record man of Spanish Athletics". In the years from 1957 to 1961 reading
about him achieving some new Spanish record was
a frequent occurrence. As can be seen in this chronology of records, Barris broke 34
Spanish records in all, on cinder tracks and in the open air; a figure
that has not been surpassed by any other Spanish athlete of our times.
