World Athletic Games en Helsinki en 1.959.
The presence of Tomás Barris in European meetings was a constant over his long athletic career. He only used to interrupt his European schedule in order to participate in Spanish and Catalan Championships and when forming part of the Spanish National Team at events. He was a constant presence at events of the highest level. Stockholm, London, Oslo, Paris, , Berlin, Edinburgh, Gothenburg, Brussels, Rome, Athens, Stuttgart, Munich, Helsinki, Malmö, Tampere, Hannover, among many others, witnessed his successes and they played an important part in gaining recognition and credibility for Spanish athletics at a time when Spanish athletes were almost unknown beyond Spain. He participated in 137 international meetings, with 58 victories, 32 second places and 21 third places, doing a total of 111 podiums.
